|Drink water cat

So Zen is fine. It turns out she had crystals in her bladder, a sort of precursor to kidney stones. The key is to try to get her to pee them out which means trying to persuade her to drink a lot. Unfortunately cats are really bad at drinking water. They just don't like to do it. I tried giving her this special milk that cats can digest but she had not interest so the vet said to just cut out the dry food and give her wet food with water mixed in and that seems to have done the trick. She hasn't peed outsider her litter box since and hasn't peed blood anywhere than I can see. We had carpet cleaners in over the weekend to deal with the smell and all seems to be well on that front.|
We're finally getting the basement back in shape and it should be pretty much fixed by late next week which I'm looking forward to. It's just depressing going down there now. We also cleared out the weeds in our garden and planted a bunch of herbs, vegetables and perennials. We'd actually bought them a week before but were told to keep them in for a while because of the cold weather and then the weeding turned out to be harder than we thought so by the time we were ready to put them in the ground a few of them were looking pretty sickly. But after getting plenty of rain they're all looking a lot better, even my oregano and cilantro which I'd been convinced weren't going to make it. I'm really enjoying watching the plants grow and can't wait to eat them.
Other than that I've been getting a lot of work done in the evenings this week because Kevin is on a crazy D&D work binge in preparation for an insane Memorial Day D&D lock in. Josh and Dan are coming into down and we're going to be playing 15 level 60 characters. But D&D doesn't go to level 60 you say? Why you're right! This game has been running since 2005 and we've long since run out of published material so have been creating home-brewed classes, monsters and gear and editing the rules to make the game keep working. We normally each play just one character but this is a smaller scale version of a project we did years ago where we played 40 level 30 characters inspired by World of Warcraft's 40-man raids. I still regret we didn't make a documentary about that process so I'm pushing for us to try to film this one and edit together into something watchable. Will the heroes win? Will we all kill each other out of character before the weekend's out? Will we actually be able to finish the fight before Tuesday? Wish us luck!
